Dear InBody Family,
We are contacting you today as you have sold InBody970 devices in the past 2 years. Unfortunately, an incident happened in an Asian subsidiary, as an elderly tripped on the device and was slightly injured. Luckily nothing too serious, but the Research and Development team developed rubber guards to be fitted under the device, to avoid this happening again.
Considering the potential liability consequences of such incidents, we had to make the decision that installing this rubber should be mandatory on all InBody970 devices in the field, alongside the latest firmware update. Newer devices are already produced with the guards, so this only concern devices sold before May 2023.
We fully understand that this will incur unwanted extra cost as customers need to be visited, and InBody will provide a compensation of 100 euros per device, as long as a picture containing the serial number and the rubber installed is provided, as well as a QC Report with the latest update (0430/A22).
I have answered some expected questions below :
1 – How do I get this rubbers?
This rubbers will be provided for free, based on the number of devices sold. Newer devices already have the rubber installed. The rubber will be shipped next week, based on the quantity of InBody970 sold pre May 2023.
2 – How long does it take?
Installing the rubber takes around 10min. Updating the firmware also takes around 10min. No calibration is needed after installing the latest firmware. We estimate the visit duration to be under 30 minutes.
3 – How do I get compensation?
Please provide a clear picture of the device, where the SN and rubbers can be clearly seen, as well as a QC Report with the latest firmware (0430/A22) via the ticket system.
4 – How do I install the rubber
Please find a quick manual attached.
5 – What if they need to be changed again in the future?
It should not be needed, but if they are damaged, you will be able to purchase them from the webshop.
